Washington, D.C., May 21, 2017 -- Members of the Jordanian American Association of D.C. (JAADC) voted on April 8, 2017 to elect new members of the association's Executive Committee. The new executive committee for the 2017-2019 period includes the following members:
Rami Rihani, President
Fadi Samara, Vice President
Salem Rihani, Treasurer
Mohamed Shatnawi, Membership
Merissa Khurma, PR and Community Outreach
Sara Haddad, Digital and Social Media
Raed Samara, Social Co-Chair
Aida Murad, Social Co-Chair
Three new members were also invited to join JAADC's Advisory Board, Ms. Nahla Farhan, Mr. Raed Farhan, and Mr. Walid Qaqish.
The new executive committee pledged to work on a new JAADC strategy to expand the membership network, organize social, cultural and policy focused events as well as increase visibility of JAADC in the Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland area and across the United States.
"I look forward to working alongside the newly elected team to engage more Jordanians in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area including young professionals and students through several community-focused cultural and social events" noted Rami Rihani, newly elected JAADC President.
On behalf of the new executive committee, the new president extended his appreciation to Mr. Fawaz Bilbeisi for his continued support and commitment as a member of the Advisory Board, and to Mr. Raja Murshed, Mr. Ziad Kurdi, and Ms. Roula Baqaen Hickman for their service on the prior Board of Directors, as well as to Ms. Hafiza Arikat and Ms. Zayna Fayyad for their service on the prior Executive Committee.
